Hello brothers it is very easy to hide main menu from guests in SocialEngine 4.7xx. All you have to do is

1: navigate to the file in your socialengine 4.7xx installation thus; /application/modules/Core/widgets/menu-main/index.tpl

2: Make a backup of the file index.tpl as index.tpl.bkp

3:Copy the code  withouth the code below;

<?php if( $this->viewer()->getIdentity() ): echo $this->navigation() ->menu() ->setContainer($this->navigation) ->setPartial(null) ->render(); ?> <?php endif; ?>

4:Paste over the code in the file.

5: Clear your browser cache and refresh then your guests can only access your socialengine instance if they properly sign up.

I'm assuming this version of SE has the layout editor?  Why not just set viewing permissions on Member Home Page??

Yet to try it. Social engine is a large app with a gazillion features. i have to look for documentations on in to be able to configure it. I am testing on my VPS for presentation.

 Do you know if anyone has got cometchat 6.0 working well without the one secone disapppearing act of the bar? My Cometchat 6.1 is messing up, delaying some messages badly.

I suggest Arrowchat for SE 4.8.x.  I use it, and it works perfectly. :)
